1) Desktop
When computer is on it displays the first appearance containing start menu, taskbar and other default icons on the screen, that screen is known as desktop.
2) Taskbar
The horizontal/vertical line of the desktop which contains start button, running programs, clock and other icons is taskbar.
3) Hardware
Hardware means any physical part of the computer that can be touched, felt. For example mouse, CPU, Monitor etc.
4) Software
Any Program used in computer which can be seen but cannot be felt or touched is known as software. For example Ms word, Adobe Photoshop, Yahoo Messenger etc.
